If you spend too much time thinking about a thing, you'll never get it done! - Bruce Lee

About

Jun Fan - Jeet Kune Do (translated as 'Bruce Lee's Way of the Intercepting Fist') is a martial art that he developed to be effective as a self defence art for use on the street. He was unhappy with the way martial arts were taught at the time and decided something needed to be done about it.  He realised that for anything to work when a person is under attack and therefore stressed, techniques had to be simple (easy to remember), lead direct to results (effective), and efficient (fast and easy to execute).

The principal of interception was one of the core ideas he based his art on (interception of the opponents movements, or intentions).   These ideas are still equally valid TODAY as they were then.

Here at Jun Fan - Jeet Kune Do - Devon, we are the first school in the southwest of the UK that teaches Bruce Lee's original teachings, in the lineage of Ted Wong. Ted Wong was Bruce Lee's long time private sparring partner and student, and was witness to all the latest developments in the art of Jeet Kune Do.

We are closely associated with 'the Academy', based in Leiden - Netherlands, under sifu James ter Beek and George Sirag, certified instructors under Ted Wong. (click on 'The Academy' logo for more info on them).

Not in Devon? No problem! Perhaps our friends at Trowbridge JKD can help?
